Safety

The SCA Board of Directors has signed an agreement with the Pittsfield Township Police Department on monitoring speeding and traffic violations within Stonebridge.  Stop and speed limit signs and their posts are being changed to adhere to State traffic sign regulations in order to increase enforcement of the speed limit within Stonebridge.

·     Stop Sign Changes.   It has been recommended by the Traffic Engineer consultant and reviewed by the Pittsfield Township Police that Stonebridge Drive North and South should become a ‘right of way’ road.  The stop signs on Stonebridge at Doral Drive (East and West), Prairie Dunes Court, and Clubhouse Drive have been taken down.  All side streets and courts entering onto Stonebridge Drive (North and South) must stop before entering Stonebridge Drive.

·     Speed Limit Sign Changes.  The Pittsfield Township Police will enforce the residential 25 MPH maximum speed limit within Stonebridge.

  • We ask that all Stonebridge residents and visitors to Stonebridge adhere to the 25 MPH speed limit.  Many complaints have been received relating to speeding within Stonebridge.
  • A special thanks goes to Miki Hiraga (Heathers) for his donation of time and woodworking craftsmanship in updating the 23 MPH speed limit signs to 25 MPH.
  • It has been suggested that habitual violators of the speed regulations be reported to the Pittsfield Township Police so that they could gather the information and patrol the neighborhood more closely.

·     No Overnight Parking on Streets.  Due to the width and curves of our community streets, we ask that there be no overnight parking on the street.  In the past, this has especially been a problem at night and during the winter.  In the winter, the streets will be cleared of snow and ice, many times, early in the morning.  We must have absolutely no overnight parking on the streets.
